Den danska gestaltpsykologen Edgar Rubin uppt\u00e4ckte hur upplevelsen blir b\u00e4rare av en best\u00e4md mening. Han uppt\u00e4ckte att vi organiserar v\u00e5ra sinnesintryck i en struktur d\u00e4r n\u00e5got \u00e4r f\u00f6rgrund och n\u00e5got annat bakgrund. H\u00e4rvid skapas ett m\u00f6nster d\u00e4r n\u00e5got av gestalten st\u00e5r fram f\u00f6r oss som det egentliga mot en bakgrund av n\u00e5got vi inte s\u00e4rskilt l\u00e4gger m\u00e4rke till. Detta hj\u00e4lper oss att skapa mening i alla de informationer vi p\u00e5verkas av. Den tysk-amerikanska gestaltpsykologen Kurt Lewin uppt\u00e4ckte att s\u00e5 l\u00e4nge som informationen inte \u00e4r gestaltad (sorterad) i figur-grund, existerar det obalans eller sp\u00e4nnningstillst\u00e5nd i organismen. H\u00e4rvid s\u00e4tts organiseringsprocessen i g\u00e5ng. De f\u00f6rvirrande och osammanh\u00e4ngande elementen ordnas i ett m\u00f6nster med det viktiga som figur och det mindre viktiga som (bak)grund, varvid sp\u00e4nningstillst\u00e5ndet neutraliseras.<br><br>Mening finner man allts\u00e5 inte i vare sig figur eller grund, utan i organisering av gestalten - i relationen mellan figur och grund. Den danska f\u00f6rfattaren och gestaltterapeuten Hanne Hostrup skriver att det som g\u00f6r det m\u00f6jligt f\u00f6r oss att m\u00f6ta v\u00e4rlden p\u00e5 ett s\u00e4tt som ger oss det vi beh\u00f6ver \u00e4r v\u00e5r f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att organisera p\u00e5verkan och sammanfatta den i en helhetsupplevelse.<br><br><strong>H\u00e4r och nu<\/strong><br><br>I gestaltterapin arbetas med tidsbegreppet. Det \u00e4r mycket viktigt att klienten blir uppm\u00e4rksam p\u00e5 i hur h\u00f6g grad hon f\u00f6rm\u00e5r att vara h\u00e4r och nu, och att hon f\u00e5r hj\u00e4lp med att tr\u00e4na sig i detta varande. I sj\u00e4lva verket finns vi ju till bara i nuet, det f\u00f6rg\u00e5ngna har passerat - det kan vi inte mera \u00e4ndra p\u00e5, och framtiden \u00e4r vi inte \u00e4nnu i. Ofta blandar sig minnen eller gamla reaktionsm\u00f6nster med den aktuella upplevelsen, och d\u00e5 \u00e4r det viktigt att vara medveten om vad som \u00e4r nu och vad som har med det f\u00f6rg\u00e5ngna att g\u00f6ra.<br><br>Ju mera en m\u00e4nniska \u00e4r i st\u00e5nd till att vara h\u00e4r och nu, desto mera medveten och kontaktfull \u00e4r hon. Klienten konfronteras med att det f\u00f6rg\u00e5ngna \u00e4r ett minne som det kan pratas om och vid behov arbetas med i realtid. Och naturligtvis \u00e4r det viktigt att arbeta med minnen som hindrar klienten fr\u00e5n att vara i nuet. Minnen b\u00f6r d\u00e4remot inte anv\u00e4ndas som ett \"ers\u00e4ttnings-nu\" med hj\u00e4lp av vilket klienten kan f\u00f6rklara varf\u00f6r livet \u00e4r outh\u00e4rdligt nu och i framtiden. Anv\u00e4nt p\u00e5 detta s\u00e4tt hindrar minnet av det f\u00f6rg\u00e5ngna upplevelsen av det som f\u00f6rsigg\u00e5r mellan f\u00f6rg\u00e5nget och framtid, d.v.s. nuet.<br><br>\u00d6nskar man tr\u00e4na sig i att vara mera n\u00e4rvarande och kontaktfull, allts\u00e5 mera h\u00e4r och nu, kan man medvetet v\u00e4lja att vara i ytter- eller innerzonen. Detta inneb\u00e4r inte att det f\u00f6rg\u00e5ngna vore oviktigt, eller att det skulle vara d\u00e5ligt att planera f\u00f6r framtiden. Det viktiga \u00e4r att h\u00e5lla de olika tidsbegreppen och medvetenhetsniv\u00e5erna is\u00e4r fr\u00e5n varandra s\u00e5 att jag lever i nuet mot bakgrunden av det f\u00f6rg\u00e5ngna och med utsikt \u00f6ver framtiden.
